Bulgar Oats Porridge
This Bulgar Oats Porridge is one of my absolute favourites and it has proven to be very filling. Try it and let me know how it turns out (which should be great because its my recipe)
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Bulgar (soaked in water from overnight)
- 2 ½ cups Water
- Salt to taste (optional)
- 1 cup Coconut Milk
- 1 tbsp Vanilla
- ¼ tsp Nutmeg
- ¼ tsp Mixed Spice (it’s ok if you don’t have)
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- ½ cup Oats
- ¼ cup Sugar
DIRECTIONS:
- Boil bulgar in 2 ½ cups water with a pinch of salt for 20 minutes
- In a cup, combine Coconut milk, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Mixed spice
- Add coconut mixture to boiling Bulgar and stir
- Add oats and boil for 3 minutes
- Sweeten with sugar and simmer for 2 minutes
Recipe serves: 2
Have your Bulgar Oats Porridge by itself or with eggs done your way. Or try a Jamaican favourite and add bread pieces or water crackers to the final product.
